I loved the point about prayer, too, and how this man’s mother had never given up praying for him. Busting the Myths of a Christian Marriage
| I like this article, written by a Christian woman, because it brings out the important point that just because you’re a Christian, it doesn’t mean that you will have a perfect, problem-free marriage. The article is a little different in parts than the way we are used to writing or speaking about Jesus or the things of the Spirit, but the basic principles are helpful. Just because we have Jesus, and we’re in the Family, and we have a lot of Word and truth and spiritual weapons to help us to fight and win, that doesn’t mean that we will have perfect marriages. We can—and should—have good, happy, successful marriages, but they will never be flawless. We are not exempt from working through differences of opinion, learning to gracefully accept personality quirks, and taking the time to communicate about issues that arise and work through them lovingly, and everything else that a normal marriage consists of. |
